DjangoCon Mountain View Travel information

DjangoCon will be at the Google headquarters in Mountain View, CA. The closest airport is San Jose Intl (SJC). Other Bay Area airports especially Oakland might have cheaper flights, but getting down to Mountain View would be more difficult.

We've arranged a block of rooms (currently 60) at the Hotel Avante; the conference rate will be $95/night. There will be a free shuttle from this hotel to the Googleplex. I certainly recommend Avante highly: it's a nice place, and the rate probably beats anything remotely comperable nearby. If you have any problems, please let me know via the contact page.

I will send an email out with the link to the special rate "room block" reservation page (for the Hotel Avante) to all those who register, just in case anyone requires it.

The hotel has a shuttle to the airport you can reserve over the phone; it'll cost about $40 Mass transit (bus and/or rail) will also get you between Mountain View and any of the airports:

• San Jose Airport to Hotel Avante (1 hour).
• San Francisco Airport to Hotel Avante (1 hour 30 minutes).
• Oakland Airport to Hotel Avante (up to 3 hours - you really should rent a car and drive instead).
